Gustavo Hamer, Sheffield United:-
It was no surprise to see Gustavo Hamer signed by a Premier League club last summer after an exceptional season with Coventry as they came so close to reaching the top level. Sheffield United had a torrid campaign, scoring just 35 goals in 38 games, but Hamer filled the role. He was directly involved in 10 of those goals (29%), scoring four and providing six assists.
The 26-year-old, who was born in Brazil before growing up in the Netherlands, did not look out of place in the Premier League. The Blades will be keen to retain his services as they seek an immediate return to the top flight, but his first experience in the Premier League may leave him wanting more.
Wilson Odobert, Burnley:-
Wilson Odobert looked a little inconsistent at times, but that’s to be expected from a 19-year-old winger. The Paris Saint-Germain youth player knew how to bother defenses, completing 2.3 dribbles every 90 minutes. He only contributed to five goals, scoring three, but his final product would improve if he played in a more established system under the guidance of an experienced coach. He has represented France at all youth levels (most recently at under-23s with Thierry Henry), so he clearly has potential.
